I have a few close real life friends, an army of internet friends, and prefer to stay at home. I was the kid in school who didnt speak to anyone and sat by a tree at recess for the whole of 2nd grade. I broke out of my shell in high school by doing theater, but Ive never been able to be fully comfortable in social situations. I am very introverted. At the same time, however, I am an insufferable internet attention whore. I dont understand how or why that worked out how it did.
