Interests & Hobbies
Meaning of Life:
Work hard, play hard, and don't be bullied by your dreams or regrets.
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
Women, cigars, books, dogs, wine, and family
Favorite Books:
Personally, I rather enjoy the classics, something rich and well-steeped that does not just entertain your mind, but flavors it a bit as well. There's a lot of great works out there written by men far better than I, about men far better than I. I like to think that little ole me, a broken flotsam stewing in the river of time, might could be a stilt of support against the fading of the memories of those bygone legends. Or, I suppose, I could just be a lecherous fool who uses the words of greater men to slip under the shifts and shift off the slips of many a gullible gals.
What I Like To Do For Fun:
Well there just isn't anything in this world better than puffing on a straw-pepper, sitting in the shade, rocking in the ocean, or handling a sweet girl on your knee. That's about all I'm interested in and, on my best of days, I'll be doing all four. As for everything else, well, I'll take them as they come.
Favorite Songs:
Music? No music is sweeter or more fulfilling than the giggle of a girl, the moan of a missus, the whimper of a wife, and, well, the soft ripple of a sleepy brook. That's real music and, boy, does it sure sound good. Try a listen some time; you'll see. Otherwise, I prefer classical, classic blues, classic jazz, and classic rock.
Favorite Movies:
Scent of a Woman, The Emperor's Club, The Pianist, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, Master and Commander, A River Runs Through it, Big Fish, Secondhand Lions
If I Could Be Anywhere Right Now:
I would be in Australia, on Sept 10, 2001, enjoying life when I thought I had happy days ahead.
Talents:
I like to work with my hands: fishing, whittling, gardening, carpentry, and sailing.
Perfect Mate:
There is only one perfect mate for each of us, and mine was taken from me. Parvati was her name; without her there are no more dreams, only nightmares.
