I've decided to use this space to put up a guide for new models,
because I often see them struggling as they first get started. While
MFC has a lot of Information
for Models, it can be a lot to take in when you're brand new.
What I've collected here is what seems to be the most important
information to get you started in the right direction. If you
have suggestions (especially if you're a model), drop me an MFC Mail
and let me know.
Basics: Basic's names are in a slightly larger, light blue font.
Premiums: Premiums have a lot more control over how their names appear, especially the font color, but they'll usually be in bold. Sometimes they'll appear in non-bold font, but different colors
Room Topic: The Room Topic sets a message that guest and members will see when they enter the chat room. Topics might range from a simple welcome message or a status message (like, 'on til 6pm GMT' or 'feeling under the weather, no privates') to a summary of how much certain actions cost (like '50 for tit flash', etc.). If models are doing something more involved like a countdown or game (more on that later), they would normally update the topic with information about the current activity.
Banning: If guests or members (including premiums) are being especially rude or causing problems, models have the option to ban them, which prevents the member from re-entering the model's chat room. By default, bans last 6 hours, but models can extend this to a much longer time period.
Models have the option to only allow members on their friends list to be able to PM them, which definitely limits how many PMs a model receives. And while this may be a good idea for new models that are being overwhelmed by PMs, it limits the ability of premiums to get to know models better. Whether to keep this setting on long term seems to a preference that really differs between models.
Group Show: Group shows are kind of like a limited version of public chat. At least three Premium Members must 'request' a group show, at which point the model can accept or decline the option (or do nothinga and let it expire). Once a group show is started, members pay 10 tokens per minute (1 token per 6 seconds) to join/remain in the group show where they can see the model and chat. In general, group shows will be more explicit than things that happen in public chat, and nudity is usually expected by members.
Private: Private is for one-on-one interaction between a model and a member, and what happens here is up to the model and the member. The other major difference for privates is that members will have permanent access to the recorded video of any privates in their video archive. It is usually a good idea to establish what will and won't happen during a private so that both the model and the member know what to expect. There are actually two kinds of privates, and the difference is important. Regular private costs the member 60 tokens per minute, and while only the member and model can chat, other Premium members can 'spy' on the cam image for 30 tokens per minute. A TruePrivate prevents other members from spying, but will cost the member in private 90 tokens per minute instead. Models have the option of requiring that all privates be trueprivates, but members will still have to pay 90 tokens per minute.
Types of Members: Probably the most important thing to know right away are the essential differences between the three types of members on MFC.
Guests: Guests names will often be 'Guest' followed by some random number, but guests can change their names, so the surefire way to tell is that their name will appear in smaller black font.Basics: Basic's names are in a slightly larger, light blue font.

Only premium members can tip, enter groups or do privates, because they're the only ones who have tokens. Any promise of tokens from guests or basics is almost certainly a scam.
Controlling Chat
Aside from video, the Chat Room is a model's main interaction with members, and you have control over several important aspects of chat, not just for themselves but for all members.
Muting Guests and Basics: Models have the option of preventing Guests or Basics from participating in the chat at all. When Guests or Basics have been muted in this way, they can no longer type anything into the chat, so no one sees it (as opposed to ignoring them, which justs keeps you from seeing them). While some models tend to keep guests and/or basics muted most of the time, others choose to do so only when such members are being rude or disruptive.Room Topic: The Room Topic sets a message that guest and members will see when they enter the chat room. Public Chat: Public chat is pretty much what it sounds like. Unless they've been banned, anyone can be in your room, see your cam, and type in the chat window. This is where most models spend most of their time. Public chat in a model's room can differ greatly by model. Some models spend most or all of their time here, just using it as a place to hang out with members and/or do most of their 'shows' here. Others may use it mostly to set up group and private shows and spend more of their time in those groups and privates (more about those below). Public 'shows' vary from relatively tame (dancing, talking, teasing) to the more explicit (stripping, nudity, playing), depending greatly on how the models prefers to do things.
