Interests & Hobbies
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
My computer, because without it I couldn't surf the internet, watch shows/movies, listen to music, play games, play guitar, or communicate with some of my peeps. Oh, and my car. And do friends and family count?
Favorite Books:
Mostly like fantasy or anything dealing with the supernatural (I know, I'm a big dork lol). Huge fan of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books...I can't wait for the HBO series! History books, both fiction and non-fiction. I like learning about other cultures and places as well, so travel guides catch my attention.
What I Like To Do For Fun:
Watching movies. Reading articles on the Web. Hanging out and chatting with my friends about all kinds of topics.
Favorite Songs:
Rock, plain & simple. Multiple sub-genres. Whether it's old, new, soft or heavy, if it rocks, chances are I'll like it. I also like some electronic & movie trailer music. Not a big country, pop or hip-hop fan, though I don't mind those in small doses :)
Favorite Movies:
Adventure-type films & historical pieces. I like a good drama. Suspense thrillers are good too. I actually do like romantic films (not rom-coms though), if I have someone special to share them with. Not really into the slasher or monster style horror movies, but ones dealing with ghosts and such I think are interesting.
If I Could Be Anywhere Right Now:
My favorite place in the whole world is Ricketts Glen in the mountains of NE PA. It has a trail with 22 named waterfalls, including the 94-foot Ganoga Falls.
Hobbies:
Day-walking, running, cycling. Like to exercise when I'm not in one of my lazy periods. Computer gaming during the winter months when I'm stuck inside. I play the electric guitar, though I'm not terribly great at it. Reading books once in a while, I used to read ALL the time...
Perfect Mate:
A girl who is very kind, loyal and affectionate. Someone who can give and accept unconditional love.
Perfect Date:
I can certainly appreciate romance, but to be honest, I just like to be casual, relax and get to know the person first. In my opinion, you can't work as a couple unless you can also work as friends. Just be yourself, not who you THINK they want you to be. They have to learn to love the real you, 'warts and all' as they say. If there's a connection, the rest will follow...
Turn Ons/Offs:
Turn Ons: Affection, compassion and empathy. Confidence without arrogance. By the same token, someone who is down-to-earth and humble without constantly putting themselves down. Honor and loyalty. Not a turn on, per se, but I appreciate a good sense of humor.
Turn offs: Selfishness, apathy. People who are rude and generally inconsiderate of others. Those who say they will be there for you and are nowhere to be found when you need them.
Best Reason to Get to Know Me:
Loyalty is something I value very highly, and I can not stress that enough. Those who know me best will tell you that I'm very supportive of my family & friends. If you're one of my loved ones, and you need someone to talk to, I will always listen...no matter what...
