When i was a young kid, I loved most classic rock jams, Joan Jett, ACDC, Guns & Roses, Janes Addiction and the list goes on. One day i took the bus to school for the first time and i was introduced to Hip Hop music. instantly I was hooked. I would learn the songs and rap to whoever would listen, sometimes I didn't understand the rhymes i was spitting and that would get me into a lot of trouble with the teachers. Hip hop was growing and changing, as was I. I started exploring other types of music and I found Sublime! I wanted to find more sublime style music, but i stumbled onto the rhymes of Atmosphere. Hip hop with a message. I could feel the love pouring from the speakers when i listened to Slug and his poetry. Atmosphere introduced me to a whole new genre of hip hop, but it wasn't just a genre, it was The Underground. That's where I have been since, I've been to 100's of concerts and always love finding out about new artists. All in all, i love all types of music, and hip hop is a reflection of that, taking samples of all genres and embracing it as one of its own. When i hear a good hip hop song, its not just some guy on a beat, its a journey into musical history.
