I was born and raised in a small desert town in southern California. Traditional roles and southern values run strong in my family. I am a proud mother of three sons. They keep me extremely busy and enjoy running me ragged and/or embarrassing me in public, as often as possible. I tolerate them not only because I adore them and they brighten my life, but also because, to my dismay, even the pound wouldnt accept them. Can you believe it? The littlest one, who is two, and has always been just like his mother, has been dubbed the moniker Honey Badger, and he terrifies everyone with his cruel fangs. Yes, he bites. And tells people, whatever, a lot.

My favorite color is green; favorite season would probably be either summer or fall. I enjoy outdoor activities like sports, hiking, fishing, camping, dirt bikes, motorcycles, riding bicycles, etc. Especially the custom Schwinn bikes my Dad likes to rebuild. Hes been a mechanic all his life, and has drug me along to many different tracks and races, including superbikes, mini trucks, the drags, funny cars, and of course nascar. We used to go to low-rider car shows every weekend, since there couldnt be anything else imaginable that Id have rather been doing! Or possibly it was because I had no choice. I must say though, all that saturation has given me a fair sense about all things mechanical.

I take a lot of pride in all that I do, especially if Ive fixed or created it with my own hands. I own my own toolbox, fully stocked; complete with a cordless dewalt, and a few other necessary items and accoutrements. I can change my own oil, or a tire, check my fluids and my tire pressure...though I usually prefer to let someone else do it nowadays! I believe theres a sense of satisfaction found in hard work that cannot ever be duplicated, and work ethic is very strong in my family. I bust my ass and a mean sweat too. I give my all in everything I do; I cant stand a half-asser. I dislike mediocrity equally as much. I demand 120% of myself and of those around me. Eleanor Roosevelt said, It is not fair to ask of others what you would not do yourself. I am against double standards and hypocrisy, and though no one is perfect, I admit I still strive for perfection every day.

Dancing is probably my favorite sport or pastime; I took dance classes for about 15 years when I was younger. Since having my boys I havent had time to enroll again, but I can still shake what my mother gave me. I try to stay as active as possible; remaining in my best physical condition is very important to me. I dont consider myself a shallow, superficial, or vain person, however I do believe a person should be the best they can be, always strive to make a good impression, and put their best foot forward. This doesnt mean being fake or posturing, it means to know thyself, and embrace what you find. To thine own self be true. Unless youre a selfish prick? Oscar Wilde said, Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

I love to cook and bake. This began many years ago in my Nanas kitchen, but became much more refined in the last decade. Im very proud of my skills in the kitchen! I have a southern style that no man can resist. I feed my family as much organic food as I can, and I have terrified everyone I know with my talk of evil GMOs, as well as the ongoing problem in Fukushima. I gave up TV a couple years back, at first I was just so busy I hardly could find time, then I just quit in favor of reading, as it holds much more appeal for me. I cant stand commercials or the mass media. I do like movies though and I do follow some series through the internet. I love HBO series like True Blood, True Detective, and Deadwood, and I also am extremely fond of documentaries, especially social and cultural types. I believe the internet is our last great resource for solid, uncensored information, and it irks me that the government is trying to intercede on our rights once again. Yes, the info out there will always require a mental filter, common sense, and sound judgment, which I admit is often quite rare nowadays. But, if knowledge is power, then I intend to be on He-Man status. And if the NSA is watching me, can you really blame them? After all, youre watching me, arent you.

My other hobbies include writing, sewing, listening to music, reading (I really like it a lot) and pretty much anything fun, exciting, adventurous, or risky. In high school I loved writing for the school newspaper, and I did some part-time writing for a local newspaper after I graduated. I have sewn all the curtains hanging in my house now, and also at my parents home, and I like to sew quilts, and pajama bottoms for my boys. Im a very social and outgoing person; I get pretty loud sometimes, and was known as the class-clown on more than one occasion. I enjoy making others laugh and smile. I love to meet new people and have new experiences. I believe that true beauty lies within, and that Karma is a bitch, but only if you are. Always try to live by the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Unless theyre being particularly mouthy and insolent; unless theyve insulted your family, or Jesus, or Jerry Springer in some waythen you would have my permission to throat punch that obnoxious assbag.
