Meaning of Life:
To live. I know it's cliche, but I believe we exist to continue existing. The human race is nothing but a short blip when measured against time itself. A single life is so incredibly short, but human beings have made a bigger impact on planet earth than any species before us. We've been here for such a short time, but we've left an unmistakable mark. Then there are individuals like Michelangelo, Newton, Cleopatra, Geroge Washington; People who not only lived fully and comprehensively- but affected change in such monumental ways, that they're remembered long after their "blip in time". The purpose of life is not only to live, but to make that life matter. It's incredibly short, but also, the longest thing we'll ever do,
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
My journal, libraries (In general), live theatre, coffee, and my phone.
Favorite Books:
Autobiographies. Poetry. Early 20th-century novels. Hemmingway, Steinbeck, Wells. A lot of scripts, plays, musicals. I think some of the best stories are those that are written to be experienced.
What I Like To Do For Fun:
Walk, read, journal, write letters, dance, drink coffee, stay up far too late, invest too much worry into politics, take many, many, photos, make beautifully terrible mistakes, and do horrible watercolor paintings.
Favorite Songs:
This list is even harder to create! Argh! I Love the indie-pop styles of Fun., Bleachers, Alt-J, and BORNS. It feels like self-indulgence every time I hear Kanye, Gambino, A$AP, and Kendrick. I thrive off of the hard hitting percussion from Gary Clark Jr, Cage the Elephant, and The Arctic Monkeys. (Yes, I love to dance to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani in my underwear, sue me!) I like all music, truthfully. As long as it's good.
Favorite Movies:
Oh boy, there's a lot of variances here. I love twisted comedies (a la Heathers and American Psycho), Art House and Indie Flicks, and indulge myself with blockbusters from time to time. My favorite film is Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, followed by Boyhood, and American Beauty.
If I Could Be Anywhere Right Now:
New York.
Hobbies:
Writing, before anything. I've wanted to be a novelist for as long as I can remember. I spend every evening with my MacBook in my lap and my hair in a top-knot. I carry three different journals with me every place I go. Secondly, I travel. A lot. I never seem to have an empty suitcase laying around. Lastly, I consider "people" a hobby. Connecting, learning, sharing, inspiring: It all fascinates me.
Talents:
I can write relatively well, I suppose! I can cook, bake, craft. I can sing (terribly) and dance (a little bit less terribly). At least I can laugh at myself!
Perfect Mate:
Someone who challenges me, above all. I can ramble on about my feelings and thoughts and views on human existence, the nature of kindness, and a lot of bullshit that I really don't know anything about. Someone who challenges me is a must because I don't claim to have all the answers: Just some of them, and only some of the time. Someone who is passionate about the arts, any art. Painting, writing, music, theatre, film, anything. An appreciation for human expression.
Perfect Date:
I haven't had one yet. I'm still waiting to figure that one out ;)
Turn Ons/Offs:
Turn Ons-
Intelligence, compassion, empathy, wit, a desire for communication. I can't give you what you want unless you tell me, specifically, what that is. I love being chased, I love being flattered, I love contradictions and debates and frustration. I love confidence, coy smirks, and an ability to change your mind, even if it's something mundane. Make me laugh, and you'll have me in the palms of your hands.
Turn Off's-
Arrogance, disinterest, rudeness, shyness, apathy, poor taste.
Best Reason to Get to Know Me:
I'm honest. I like the arts, I love sex, I'm inspired by others, I never shut up about anything. I take great satisfaction in being pleased, but I take greater satisfaction in pleasing others. Fun fact: I used to have amnesia! I've lived across the US for short stints of time! I have a mystery neuropathic illness! I enjoy fashion, elegance, makeup, basketball, flirting, and playing the relentless game of life. Also the board game Life, but I digress.
