Interests & Hobbies
Meaning of Life:
To love all the people. I try to do this but some people make it very difficult, ya know?
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
Music. Mah guitars. Internet. Netflix. An intermittent smattering of pity sex.
Favorite Books:
I read a fair bit of non-fiction - Hunter S. Thompson, Lester Bangs, Henry Rollins, Charlie Brooker and the like. I dig Bukowski a lot. Dood was a'ight. My favourite book is High Fidelity by Nick Hornby.
Favorite Songs:
I couldn't possibly hope to list all my favourite songs and artists in this here little section. I dig Springsteen and Prince and The Beatles and The Stones and Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young and Dinosaur Jr and The Smashing Pumpkins. I like soul and funk and blues and hip-hop, I like late 80's/early 90's American post-punk, I like indie music in most all its carnations, I like classic rock from the 60s, I like rock and roll from the 50s, I like that one song by UB40 where Pato Banton bragged about his colour TV and CD collection of Bob Marley through the medium of rap.
Recently I are been listenin' to Torres, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Waxahatchee, A$AP Rocky, and the soundtrack to Django Unchained.
Favorite Movies:
Almost Famous is mah favourite film in the world ever. Amelie is the most beautiful film you could ever hope to see. Ghostbusters is the bomb, yo. The Big Lebowski is required viewing for people with eyes and ears, yeah?
Hobbies:
I play guitars, albeit pretty poorly. I listen to an obscene amount of music and then write about it and pretend that people care about what I wrote (I'm basically an unpaid music journalist). I go to a lot of gigs (I once saw Prince live and we made eye contact for like, three seconds!). I play computer games and peruse the internetz a lot (and not always for porn, yo. Sometimes I look at amusing pictures of cats!).
Perfect Date:
An evening spent with Aubrey Plaza that features at least three (although preferably all five) of the following: A wild, intense, passionate and uncompromising game of Monopoly; some spooning; an Autumnal walk that takes us past some trees with glistening, orange leaves falling on to the crisp, green, sun-soaked grass, like what you see in movies, ya know?; a reverent viewing of at least one full season of The Adventures of Pete and Pete; and a keenly contested debate about whether it's appropriate to find farts so hellaciously amusing this far into adulthood.
Turn Ons/Offs:
Turn Ons: Women who aren't completely repulsed by the idea of my willy being in or around their face.
Turn Offs: Women who are completely repulsed by the idea of my willy being in or around their face.
