About Me:
In my tags I have that I am quadriplegic.
(the details I am about to give may or may not be 100% accurate because I do not remember anything. I only know what I have been told.)
In 2016 I was the front passenger in a single-car accident. My dad was the driver. We had spent the day mud riding, and ended up stuck in a hole that we weren't told was extremely deep. It made our jeep high-center and we were stuck there for 12 hours until another jeep wrangler pulled us out. We were heading home when (my family and I assume) my dad fell asleep. The jeep went off road and hit a concrete culvert - causing us to flip end to end four times. We landed upside down in a tree. My dad died from his injuries. He was my best friend and I lost him.
My injuries were/are - Cervical Spine 5 - 7 fractured and fixed with a titanium plating. Severed spinal cord where C5-C7 was fractured which caused the quadriplegia. For the first two months I was unable to move below my neck. I slowly regained movement in my arms and hands but my fine motor skills are still pretty shitty. I am very aware that I have AMAZING hand function for my injury. I am forever grateful and continue to work towards more recovery.
For the first six months I had a tracheotomy and was hooked to a ventilator, but am no longer in need of an oxygen machine at all. Though I do still use an inhaler occasionally.
