Interests & Hobbies
Meaning of Life:
The pursuit of happiness! And authenticity. But really, life for me means always doing what I must to be happy. Life is too short to be pissed off.
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
The internet, sushi, yarn, Doctor Who, and my cat.
Favorite Books:
Currently reading the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin and The Once and Future King by T.H. White. I have too many 'favorite' books to list, but some of my all-time favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Anne Rice and Chuck Palahniuk.
What I Like To Do For Fun:
I spend most of my time reading but when I don't have my nose buried in a book I'm often found making stuff out of yarn or playing Skyrim, WoW or some other RPG.
Favorite Songs:
I am admittedly and emo kid. I love Something Corporate, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, The Used, Secondhand Serenade, Boys Night Out and all that gooey crap your high school girlfriend made you listen to. Recently I've also been listening to a lot of garage rock like The Sonics, The White Stripes and The Hives.
Favorite Movies:
Any Guy Ritchie film, with a special soft spot for Lock Stock. I also love Tim Burton's films and just about everything Helena Bonham Carter is in. The Evil Dead trilogy and zombie flicks in general.
Craziest Thing I've Ever Done:
Well I don't exactly remember the event itself, but I'll tell you I was eventually charged with Fleeing to Elude at High Speeds.
If I Could Be Anywhere Right Now:
Gallifrey. Or, barring that, a pub in Belfast.
Hobbies:
I knit and crochet to keep myself busy between episodes of Doctor Who. I have an absurd yarn collection that has gotten so large that I'm worried the stacks upon stacks of acrylic fiber will develop sentience and attempt a hostile take-over.
Talents:
I can knit you a sweater, is that considered a talent? I've tried my hand at sculpting too but with only lack-luster results. I make pretty damned good lasagna, haha.
Perfect Mate:
'Some girls are waiting for their vampire, some want their werewolf, I'm waiting for my Time Lord.'
Not sure how I feel about a laundry list of classifications for my 'perfect mate'. If you can give me an intellectual conversation and also orgasms, chances are you're halfway there.
Perfect Date:
A sushi restaurant and a bad movie. Seriously, bad movies give you so much more to talk about on dates than good ones. I also love the idea of being taken to a theme park or a show at a small venue.
Turn Ons/Offs:
Biggest turn off, especially in a forum like this but also just generally, is bad grammar. I won't fault you for it personally but I have a huge respect for the written word and it makes me cringe when people can't respect it enough to type out the word 'you' or when they substitute numbers for words.
Also hate and ignorance turn me off so if you're hateful and ignorant please don't waste my time :D
Now if you want to turn me ON, speak Whovian to me. Or French. Or Nerd.
Best Reason to Get to Know Me:
People always tell me that I'm not what they expected, that I'm a surprise in one form or another. I just may surprise you too ;)
