How about authors intead? Gaiman, Gibson, Stephenson (i've not managed to conquer the baroque cycle yet though), Pratchett, Warren Ellis, Larry Niven, Tolkein, George R.R. Martin, and a plethora of comics.

Wax Trax industrial (i was raised on this stuff being a chicago boy), a bit of powernoise on occasion, a bit of old school goth and punk, metal (maiden, metalicca, anthrax, etc), jazz (tony bennett, billie holiday), blues, and an eclectic mix of random other happy noises)
Favorite Movies:
City of Lost Children, Amelie, Brazil (anything Gilliam), Time Bandit (seriously, how did my parents let me see this as a child?), Labyrinth, Dark Crystal (just about anything with some hensony goodness), The Muppet Movie, Machine Girl, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro (again, just about anything Myazaki), Clockwork Orange, Doctor Strangelove (okay, kubrick too), Reservoir Dogs, El Mariachi. I'm going to stop now, or this list could go on for years.
Hobbies:
Photography, RPGs (table top and video), Video Games. I don't break out the pencil and paper nearly enough anymore, but, drawing, sketching, etc.
