Meaning of Life:
The answer was 42, wasn't it? ; )
Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer. ~ Joseph Campbell
Five Things I Can't Live Without:
Water, food, shelter, warmth and a sense of belonging.
Favorite Books:
Call of the Wild by Jack London, The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Othello by Shakespeare (technically a play, of course), Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden - the list of fiction goes on and on.
As for non-fiction, I love books about how to write well. Elements of Style by Strunk and White is a staple, Creating Character Emotions by Hood was incredibly informative and The Plot Thickens by Noah Lukeman was an invaluable eye-opener for me.
What I Like To Do For Fun:
I try to do the 7 Little Words puzzle everyday, I enjoy playing fetch and biking with my dogs, and I like to dance. I've got a deep affection for stargazing and I wouldn't have made it very far without daydreaming.
I'm splashing around in the birdbath that is Twitter, for anyone interested in that sort of thing -

Favorite Songs:
Pink Floyd, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Aerosmith, The Cars, Cake - that's what comes to mind when I try to think of my favorite bands growing up.
Nowadays, I listen to pretty much everything besides country (ironic with me living in Georgia, I know). If it's got a good beat I can dance to, chances are I'll enjoy it.
Favorite Movies:
The Shawshank Redemption, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Ice Age. Those are the only movies I have on DVD and they are my go to's whenever I'm feeling blue.
Craziest Thing I've Ever Done:
From this past year, I'd have to say trespassing on a neighbor's property to go skinny dipping in their lake in the middle of the afternoon.
If I Could Be Anywhere Right Now:
A beach in Zihuatanejo, for sure.
Hobbies:
I write dark romance and horror quite a bit, and I keep a daily journal. It started out as a gratitude diary to train myself to focus more on the blessings in my life, but has since evolved into a place for recording my dreams, giving myself pep talks and jotting down story ideas, narrative blurbs and dialogue snippets.
Writing pretty much gets 100% of my hobby time - it's always been my one and only.
Perfect Mate:
Someone open-minded who knows how to roll with the punches. Optimism is a must, a thirst for knowledge is exciting and a love of good food is toothsome ; )
Perfect Date:
A perfect date depends on with whom I'm sharing my company. The activity would have to be something we both enjoy for it to be perfect - but really, how memorable would a perfect date be? Have the waiter bring us the wrong plates of food, let me accidentally fall in a lake while partaking in a moonlit stroll, allow us to pleasantly disagree about life philosophies, and there would be a date not perfect, but unforgettable.
Turn Ons/Offs:
Turn Ons - curiosity, a bold smile, a quick wit and an air of hopefulness go a long way for me.
Turn Offs - I had some other stuff here, but after some reflection I realized that my turn offs are anything and everything that opposes free speech. Political correctness is fascism pretending to be good manners, ya'll. It aims to stifle dissent and smother self-determination. If that's not a major turn off, I don't know what is.
Best Reason to Get to Know Me:
I could rattle off any number of positive attributes, but I think my strongest quality is my ability to apologize and admit when I'm wrong - I don't hold grudges and I place great value on reconciliation, so forgiveness is a strong suit of mine.
